What we cover

Things to consider

Your personal belongings are protected against many causes such as fire or flood damage, loss, theft and accidental damage

Damage caused by natural wear and tear to your items over time isn’t covered 

We’ll insure your freezer contents in the event of loss of power, and also cover you against loss of oil and metered water

Each bicycle must be individually listed under the policy, with a maximum value of £2000

If your home becomes uninhabitable, we’ll cover the cost of finding alternative accommodation

We don’t cover any damage that’s caused by pests in the home, such as termites, fungus or mildew

If there’s a fatal accident within the home, or whilst you’re travelling within the UK, our policy has you covered

You must inform us as soon as possible if you’ve loss, accident or theft

Our content insurance plan covers Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) and Northern Ireland. If you’re travelling within these areas and have an accident, call our team and we’ll be able to assist you.

You’ll have a few conditions that you’ll need to meet, and you can find the detailed list within your full policy documentation, but a few examples of these conditions include; 

  • Answer any questions our team ask to the best of your knowledge, as this could impact our decision to accept your insurance with us
  • Inform us as soon as possible about any changes in your circumstances. This could be things like a change to your address, or if someone new moves into the home with you, if the home has become  unoccupied, or if your home is being used for business purposes. 
  • Notify our team as soon as possible if you’ve experienced a loss, accident or theft 


You’ll need to pay the excess fees as the first part of your claim, plus any additional excesses that may apply. You’ll find this information on your policy documentation; 

The compulsory excess fee is £100, except for instances considered to be Escape of Water, where the excess is £250.  Tenants Liability or occupiers and personal liability have no excess fees applied.

We understand the need to be flexible, so you can pay for insurance either annually or on a monthly basis.

Our contents insurance is an annual policy, which is renewable each year. Before the renewable period, we’r recommend that you take a moment to review, so that you can ensure it’s the right option for your circumstance.

In the rare instance that you’ve spoken with our team but later realise that the policy cover doesn’t meet your needs, you can cancel your policy, subject to fees

  •  within 14 days and we’ll refund your premium for the exact number of days you have remaining on your policy, plus Insurance Premium Tax
  •  outside of 14 days, we’ll refund your premium for the exact number of days left on your policy, plus Insurance Premium Tax. We will also do this if you want to cancel the policy after the renewal date has passed. 
  • Please note; no cancellation refunds can be given if you’ve already made a claim in the current insurance period of insurance.
